The Department of Physics invites applications for Part-Time Instructors for Spring 2026 or Fall 2026. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach physic courses.
The successful candidate is expected to teach introductory and advanced level courses by the Department of Physics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teach face-to-face and/or online courses, attend training and/or review sessions. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to, academic advising of students, supporting student organizations, participating in program development and assessment. The candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in the department and university.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
Our mission in the Department of Physics to provide a world-class education and research training. From sub-atomic particles to space to the human brain, our faculty provide a well-rounded interdisciplinary perspective that will prepare students for a variety of careers in traditional as well as interdisciplinary.
Our department has expertise in a variety of sub-disciplines covering every facet of contemporary research in Physics and Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology. Our faculty perform research in Astronomy, Atmospheric Science and Meteorology, Biological Physics, Material Science, Nuclear Physics, Space Sciences, and Physics Education Research with opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have a Master's degree in Physics or closely related subject with a minimum of 18 credit hour graduate course.

Candidates with 1-3 years teaching experience are preferred for the lecture courses at the University or Community College level.
