Temp Manager information

What does a Temp Manager do?

A Temp Manager oversees temporary employees within an organization, ensuring that staffing needs are met efficiently and effectively. They are responsible for recruiting, onboarding, supervising, and evaluating temporary staff, often coordinating with staffing agencies. Temp Managers also handle scheduling, resolve workplace issues, and ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations. Their role is crucial for organizations that experience fluctuating workloads or require specialized skills for short-term projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Temp Manager?

To thrive as a Temp Manager, you need strong organizational skills, experience in staffing or HR, and a solid understanding of employment laws and best practices. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), scheduling software, and HR management platforms is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to effectively communicate with both clients and temporary staff help set top performers apart. These competencies are crucial for efficiently placing temporary employees, maintaining client satisfaction, and ensuring compliance in a fast-paced staffing environment.

What are some common challenges Temp Managers face when leading short-term teams?

Temp Managers often encounter challenges such as quickly building rapport and trust with new team members, adapting to varying workplace cultures, and efficiently aligning temporary staff with the company's goals. Since assignments are typically project-based or seasonal, Temp Managers must be adept at onboarding, setting clear expectations, and maintaining high morale despite limited timeframes. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to ensure smooth transitions and successful project outcomes.

Job description

ABOUT ZEGNA

The global leader in luxury menswear, ZEGNA was founded in the Italian Alps in 1910. Part of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, the brand remains true to the values of its visionary Founder, Ermenegildo Zegna, who believed in creating world-class fabrics in harmony with both nature and local communitiesโ€”a philosophy embodied by Oasi Zegna, the home of our values. The inspiration behind the brand's values, Oasi Zegna, continues to guide everything we do at ZEGNA โ€” from supporting our people to fostering a culture of growth, where craftsmanship and innovation are core elements of our learning processes and long-term growth strategy.

YOUR ROLE AT ZEGNA

As Temp, Visual Merchandising Manager, South & Central, based in Miami, Florida, you will bring your unique strengths to the Visual Merchandising team, and maintain responsibility for leading the execution and maintenance of visual merchandising strategies across key retail and wholesale locations within the South & Central region of the U.S. This role ensures that all visual presentations reflect brand standards and align with marketing and commercial objectives to drive business performance and elevate the client experience.

You'll work closely with Senior Director of Visual Merchandising to drive meaningful results and shape the way we work and grow. This role will collaborate with Merchandising, Store Management, Regional Retail Teams, Wholesale Partners, and cross-functional departments to deliver impactful, luxury-driven visual environments that embody the brand's aesthetic and values.

HOW YOU BRING IT TO LIFE

Here's how you'll bring this role to life each day โ€” making it your own and shaping it with your unique talents and expertise:

  • Manage, mentor, and develop Visual Merchandising for South & Central regions, ensuring consistent execution of brand standards across all designated doors.
  • Oversee all visual installations, seasonal floor sets, and window changes in assigned retail and wholesale doors, ensuring alignment with corporate visual direction and local business needs.
  • Fosters a culture of open communication, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with store management and corporate teams to plan, schedule, and execute regional visual merchandising calendars.
  • Supervise the creation, installation, and maintenance of in-store and window presentations, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Conduct regular store walkthroughs to assess visual standards, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure brand integrity.
  • Support new store openings, renovations, and special visual projects across the region.
  • Provide active support for store events, product launches, and marketing activations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between corporate visual merchandising, marketing, and regional retail teams to ensure cohesive implementation of seasonal strategies.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams and external partners to coordinate timelines, materials, and visual directives.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and retail teams to optimize product placement and storytelling in line with commercial goals.
WHO YOU ARE

This is how you show up:

  • 3+ years of experience in visual merchandising and/or visual presentation/display/fine art/fashion styling experience
  • Flexibility to work outside standard working hours (i.e. evenings after 9pm, overnights and weekends)
  • Ability to travel frequently across assigned markets (approx. 50%)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite/Photoshop, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word), and visual planning tools.
  • Strong sense of aesthetics, detail, and brand sensitivity, with an understanding of luxury clientele and environments.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects (maintenance and installations) at once.
  • Strong project management, communication, prioritization and organizational skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines with minimal direction.
YOUR ZEGNA OFFER
  • The pay range for this position is $45-50/hr and is dependent on a candidate's relevant skills and experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, and commuter benefits.
  • Paid sick time off and holidays, with accrual based on tenure and role.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a growing, global brand at the forefront of luxury and innovation.
NATURALLY IN ZEGNA

Joining us means stepping into a world of excellence, where the uniqueness of our authenticity is rooted in the talents of our people, who together contribute to weaving a story of innovation and craftsmanship. You will become part of an ongoing journey of development, uncovering your talents while contributing to a proud legacy and a vibrant tomorrow.
