Brake Operator Pay Rate and Hours:
  • Pay: $20-$26/hr
  • Days and hours: Mon-Fri, Hours: 1st shift 6:00am - 4:30pm
Brake Operator Job Summary
The Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating press brake machines to bend and form metal materials according to precise specifications. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality fabrication while maintaining safety and production efficiency.
Brake Operator Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal parts
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
  • Select proper tooling (dies and punches) and set machine parameters
  • Measure and verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve accurate bends and tolerances
  • Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • Work with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
  • Document production activities and report any material or equipment issues
Brake Operator Required Skills & Qualifications
