Job description

JSW Steel USA is seeking an experienced Barge Supervisor to join our team!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure compliance during barge and rail loading/unloading operations.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the efficient unloading and loading of steel plates, scrap, and slabs from barges and rail cars.
  • Supervise crane operators and loading crews, ensuring safe work practices and productive operations.
  • Monitor team performance and provide leadership, coaching, training, and corrective feedback when necessary.
  • Review equipment inspection reports and ensure proper maintenance of cranes, rail cars, and related machinery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment across all operational areas.
  • Coordinate daily activities with rail crews and tugboat operators to ensure timely movement of materials.
  • Address operational issues such as equipment malfunctions, delays, or safety concerns quickly and effectively.
  • Prepare and submit daily operational reports covering safety, productivity, equipment usage, and workforce performance.
  • Maintain accurate records for safety inspections, employee training, and equipment maintenance.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience supervising employees in an industrial, logistics, marine, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, enforce safety standards, and maintain operational discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to operational challenges.
