Description
Act as mentors to those involved in the following THEA courses: Stagecraft, Production Practicum, Theatre Practicum, Costume & Lighting/Sound Technology.
Examples of Duties
Duties Include:
  • Act in various capacities that include, but are not limited to:
    ?Lighting Designer
    ?Associate Lighting Designer
    ?Assistant Lighting Designer
    ?Production Electrician
    ?Board Operator
    ?Followspot Operator
    ?Moving Light Programmer
    ?Moving Light Maintenance Crew
    ?Rigger
  • Upkeep, maintenance, and organization of lighting equipment
  • Notify the Lighting Professor if any equipment is faulty
  • Participate in load-in and strike as needed for all main stages
  • Lighting Crew members are responsible for obtaining the necessary training on the proper and efficient use of the equipment they will be using. Training must be completed before hanging and focusing sessions begin. This training will be coordinated through a quarterly orientation workshop by the UCM Theatre and Dance Professors
  • Ensure that all Division policies and procedures governing the use of lighting equipment and these facilities are strictly adhered to.
  • Lighting Shop Hires will assist the Head Electrician and T.D. with the wiring of scenic, practical lighting, or stage properties, as instructed.
  • Lighting Shop Hires will assist the Head Electrician with the hanging, cabling, securing, and focusing of all lighting equipment used in production.

  • M-F 8-5, some weekends required

Special Instructions:
