What is the difference between Seasonal Lighting Board Operator vs Lighting Technician?

Both roles involve working with lighting systems, but the Seasonal Lighting Board Operator focuses on controlling lighting displays for seasonal events, often requiring knowledge of lighting consoles and programming. The Lighting Technician has a broader scope, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lighting equipment across various live and recorded productions. While credentials overlap, the Seasonal Lighting Board Operator specializes in programming and operating lighting boards for seasonal displays, making it a more niche role within the lighting industry.
