These positions are typically short-term roles designed to help the department meet seasonal demands, special projects, or to fill in for permanent staff on leave. Temp LADWP workers may be assigned to a variety of tasks, including administrative support, maintenance, customer service, or technical roles. Working as a temp can be a good way to gain experience with LADWP and potentially transition into a permanent position.

What are some common challenges faced by temporary employees at LADWP, and how can they prepare for them?

Temporary employees at LADWP often face the challenge of quickly adapting to new systems, procedures, and teams. Since these roles are typically project-based or to cover short-term needs, temps may have less time for training and must be proactive in asking questions and seeking guidance. Collaborating with permanent staff and demonstrating reliability can also open up future opportunities within the organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a temporary employee at LADWP, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Temporary Employee at LADWP, you generally need a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer literacy, and the ability to quickly learn new procedures.
