What are Temp Insulated Panels?

Temp Insulated Panels are prefabricated building components designed to provide thermal insulation and structural support in construction projects. They consist of an insulating core material, such as expanded polystyrene or polyurethane, sandwiched between two layers of durable material like steel or aluminum. These panels are commonly used for walls, roofs, and cold storage facilities, making them ideal for environments where temperature control and energy efficiency are important. Temp Insulated Panels help reduce energy consumption, improve building durability, and speed up construction timelines.

Understanding these differences helps clarify job responsibilities and industry applications.

What are some common challenges faced by Temp Insulated Panel workers, and how can they be addressed on the job?

Temp Insulated Panel workers often encounter challenges such as handling heavy materials, working in varied weather conditions, and ensuring precise installation to maintain insulation performance. Job description

Job Title: Architectural Panel Installer

Job Description

This role focuses on installing large-format architectural panels on commercial construction projects. You will begin on a project in Fort Collins through the end of August and, based on performance, transition to additional projects throughout the Denver metro area. The position involves hands-on field work, precise installation, and collaboration with other trades on large commercial job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lift, position, and install large-format architectural panels on commercial projects safely and accurately.
  • Measure, mark, and lay out panel locations using tape measures, pocket squares, and other layout tools.
  • Use hand and power tools such as snips, drills, clamps, and related equipment to cut, fasten, and secure panels.
  • Work from plans, drawings, and instructions to ensure panels are installed to specification and project standards.
  • Collaborate with other field trades, including metal framers, sheet metal workers, glaziers, and carpenters, to coordinate installation activities.
  • Inspect installed panels for proper alignment, fit, and finish, making adjustments as needed to meet quality expectations.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, including safe lifting practices and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored safely and efficiently.
  • Travel to and work on various project sites, starting with a large commercial project in Fort Collins and moving to other Denver metro projects as needed.
  • Work flexible hours, including occasional longer days and some Saturdays, to meet project schedules and deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience as an architectural panel installer or in a closely related trade.
  • Hands-on experience installing metal or insulated panels on construction projects.
  • Background in roofing, tile work, metal framing, cold roll framing, glazing, carpentry, or sheet metal (tinners) that translates to panel installation.
  • Ability to read measurements accurately and use a tape measure and pocket square for layout.
  • Proficiency using hand tools such as snips and clamps for cutting and positioning panels.
  • Proficiency using power drills and related equipment for fastening panels and components.
  • Capability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver large panels on active construction sites.
  • Familiarity working on large commercial construction projects or similar environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a field installation team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in field sheet metal fabrication and installation.
  • Experience in metal framing or cold roll framing.
  • Background in glazing or curtain wall installation.
  • Carpentry or tile work experience that supports precise layout and installation.
  • Experience working with insulated panel systems or metal cladding.
  • Comfort working at heights and on scaffolding or lifts, as required by the project.
  • Willingness to travel between different project sites within the Denver metro area and surrounding regions.
  • Reliability and punctuality in meeting scheduled shifts and project timelines.

Why Work Here?

Join a stable national organization that delivers high-profile commercial projects throughout the Denver metro area. You will gain exposure to complex, large-scale builds and work alongside experienced tradespeople across several successful divisions. The role offers consistent project-based work, opportunities to move between sites as projects are completed, and the chance to expand your skills in architectural panel systems and related trades.

Work Environment

You will work on large commercial construction sites, starting with a major project in Fort Collins and then transitioning to additional projects around the Denver metro area based on performance and project needs. The typical schedule consists of approximately 8-hour shifts, with occasional extended days or Saturday work to meet project deadlines. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, requiring regular use of tools such as snips, drills, clamps, tape measures, and pocket squares. You will work outdoors and indoors depending on project phase, often around other trades and heavy equipment, following standard construction site safety practices and wearing appropriate jobsite attire and personal protective equipment.
