Job description

Powerhouse Operator

12-hour shift position 7a to 7p & 7p to 7a, rotation monthly.

Hourly payrate $24.90 - 32.35 per hour.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Ability to be trained and follow procedures in all areas of powerhouse department including, Operate boiler and work with steam

  • Operate turbine and work with high voltage electricity

  • Operate gas compressor and work with high pressure natural gas

  • Monitor and operate fire protection system including fire pump

  • Monitor multiple water supplies and make adjustments as needed

  • Operate plant water softening systems

  • Operate plant wastewater treatment plant

Qualifications Requirements

  • To work safely

  • Basic math and computer skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to do water test

  • Attention to detail with ability to react quickly and safely in emergency situations

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

  • Monitor several data system within the area

  • Person will be required to be trained in CPR/ first aid / AED/ BBP

  • Will be required to make frequent rounds of entire plant in all weather conditions

  • Will need to have basic mechanical abilities

  • Will be required to work in confined spaces

  • Will be required to be trained and act as a Hazwoper Level 2 Responder

Shift: 12 Hour Rotating

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
