Job description

Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The Sanitation position is responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the proper upkeep and cleanliness of BEK buildings.

  • Strictly adhering to our safety guidelines
  • Cleaning all surfaces of assigned areas using appropriate maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ensuring upkeep of designated dock areas to maintain safe and clean working environment
  • Perform additional tasks as needed, for example cleaning restrooms.

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • At least 3 months of work experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to receive and follow directions.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
  • Must pass drug screen and physical exam.
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in all 3 environments dry, cooler, freezer. Temp in the freezer is 10 degrees below zero.
  • Must be willing to learn and use a cherry-picker and work in high places (must not be afraid of heights).
  • Ability to learn to operate heavy warehouse equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend
  • Must be able to tolerate repetitive lifting
  • Ability to handle product weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Steel-toe shoes required.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to work through a (+) 8-hour shift
  • Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs.
