Vortex Optics is looking for a talented individual to temporarily join our Small Parcel team this fall with an expected start date in late August/early September. In this role, you will be responsible for learning many roles within our Warehouse, which will keep the work environment dynamic and varied. Primary hours will be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, but additional hours and flexibility may be required.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Pick orders using an RF device in our WMS (Warehouse Management System)
  • Place picked orders onto the conveyor to be conveyed to the Small Parcel Packing team
  • Walk large order carts and single order gurneys up to the Small Parcel Packing team
  • Pack orders using a desktop version of our WMS (Warehouse Management System)
  • Maintain and organize adequate shipping supplies
  • Assist the Freight team by picking orders, packing items per vendor preferences, label pallets per vendor preferences, and wrapping pallets
  • Crosstrain and support other areas as needed
  • Pursue and obtain product knowledge on a regular basis, both independently through available information, through training programs provided, and by asking questions
  • Perform general warehouse maintenance such as cleaning, sweeping, organizing
  • Follow safety procedures in accordance with approved training and reports any dangerous conditions to a member of management immediately
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, working together in a cooperative manner to achieve department and company goals
