Civil Service Extra Help
Extra Help Services provides campus departments with skilledemployees for temporary needs. We offer assignments dependent upon the needs ofthe campus. As an extra Help Employee, the State Universities Civil ServiceSystem rules require that you take a 30-calendar-day break after you haveworked 900 hours. At the end of the 30-day period, you may begin another900-hour employment cycle in a new position.
Extra Help employees are not hiredwith the intent of guaranteed employment. Anyone applying for and acceptingExtra Help employment agrees to the conditions of this type of employment. Theyreceive no assurance of continued employment.
Because Extra Help employees work in temporary/as neededassignments, there are no benefits associated with this form of employment atthe University of Illinois.
