Description
Perform miscellaneous custodial duties to fill in for anyone on vacation or absent, as assigned, to include: Set rooms for yearly camps, conferences, and other events, as requested. Sweep, dust mop, spot mop, spray buff, shower scrub, burnish, and refinish all hard surface floors throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo, extract carpets throughout the assigned area, or as assigned by the supervisor. Move furniture, equipment, materials, and perform other general maintenance. Service, clean, and disinfect apartments and dorm public areas including: restrooms, offices, lounges, laundry rooms, kitchens, stairwells, halls and clean drinking fountains. Maintain custodial closets, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe manner. Remove trash and debris from building to dumpster. Clean entry ways, partition glass, interior windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents. Dust furniture, spot clean walls, ceilings, and doors/frames, as needed. Snow removal, as required. Report to the Facilities Planning & Operations by job request anything that needs repairing or replacing. Perform additional duties, as assigned by administrative or supervising personnel.

Typical Qualifications
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:
  • Previous custodial experience preferred.

Supplemental Information
Physical/Environmental Factors:
  • Ability to operate buffers, scrubbers, burnishers, extractors, and other custodial equipment.
  • Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals
  • Lifting (weight) - 50 lbs

Working Hours and Days:
Sunday - Thursday 7:00 am to 3:30pm, overtime available
