Overview:
Our Baseplant Engineering team has an exciting opportunity if you are an intermediate - experienced Mechanical Engineer! In this hands-on role, You'll restore equipment, troubleshoot field failures, deliver timely work scopes, and support safe, reliable operations through integrity assessments and practical recommendations

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 years of relevant engineering experience

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

  • Must be a registered Profession Engineer with APEGA

  • Field experience supporting Maintenance and Operations in an industrial environment

  • Technical strength and strong collaboration with client groups

  • Alberta Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line support by troubleshooting equipment issues and preparing cost-effective repair scopes for onsite and offsite maintenance within the Production Unit

  • Use risk reviews, HAZOPs, management of change processes, and other safety checks to improve equipment safety and reliability performance

  • Support major events and turnarounds with technical oversight, plan reviews, repair scopes, scope deviation guidance, and prompt responses to information requests

  • Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and lead minor plant and equipment modifications

  • Develop technical evaluations for major equipment changes and projects using management of change and risk assessment

  • Complete fitness-for-service assessments and recommend repair, replacement, or return to service

  • You will work out of our Suncor Base Plant located in Fort McMurray, AB

  • Your shift will be Monday to Friday

  • This position is safety sensitive
