Job Title: Call Center Representative

Location: West Lafayette, IN 47906 (Onsite Only)
Duration: Temp - 4 weeks, potential to extend to 6 weeks
Pay Range: $25.36/hr


Schedule & Engagement Details:

  • Fully onsite. In-person attendance required daily.
  • No weekends. No overtime.
  • Monday through Friday.
  • 4 weeks: 7/6–7/31, with potential extension to 6 weeks: 7/6–8/14.

Job Description

We are seeking a Call Center Representative to join our dynamic team supporting Purdue University Housing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in customer service and high-volume call handling and a proven ability to deliver clear, accurate, and timely information to students and families.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls regarding campus housing options, application steps, deadlines, room assignments, move-in logistics, and related services.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and clear information to students and families to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Escalate complex issues or unusual circumstances to the Housing team as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing policies, processes, key dates, and FAQs.
  • Identify and document recurring concerns to improve resources and communications.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage high call volumes with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Comfort working with diverse student populations and families.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to learn housing systems and call center software.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a call center, customer service, or higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with university housing processes or student services.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus, such as Spanish or Mandarin.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily seated work using a computer and headset or phone for extended periods.
  • Onsite presence required each day.
