Job description

A Research Fellow position in Life Sciences (LS) will require knowledge of either clinical-based research or laboratory-based research often obtained from a postdoctoral program.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. The Ethylin Wang Jabs and Meng Wu labs are looking for a Research Fellow for several ongoing projects to investigate biologic regulators, pathways and networks involved in embryogenesis and birth defects. Applicants should have wet laboratory experience in molecular, cell and/or animal model systems. These projects involve a broad array of well-established techniques such as mouse genetics, CRISPR gene editing, cell culture, differentiation of iPSCs and organoids, microdissection of tissues, and RNA-seq, as well as emerging single-cell/spatial multi-omics profiling technologies, to study gene regulation at the cellular and tissue level. Projects in our labs are funded through NIH grants and contracts. The candidate will work within an integrated, multidisciplinary team of experimental and computational scientists.
