Position Overview:
Pharmacy IV Technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, provide IV medication and other health care products to patients through sterile compounding processes and procedures.

This overnight Pharmacy IV Tech position works 7 days on 7 days off 10pm - 10am with a shift differential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of Pharmacist and Lead Pharmacy IV Technician.
  • Strictly follow SOPs and USP797 to prepare IV medications.
  • Make requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacists.
  • Receive and maintain inventory of drugs and ensure their security.
  • Enter medication orders into pharmacy operating system.
  • Clean and maintain cleanroom per USP797 and SOPs.
  • Maintain records of compounding, daily temps, and cleaning logs.
  • Verify that information on the prescription is complete and accurate.
  • Print prescription labels and package prescriptions according to Long Term Care policy standards.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.

Qualifications:

  • Must be an Indiana licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician.
  • Working knowledge of USP797 guidelines for training, compounding of medications, and cleaning and monitoring cleanroom.
  • Previous Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy experience a plus (but not required).
  • Knowledge of FrameworkLTC a plus (but not required).
