Position Description Summary

Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for temporary faculty positions in Finance in the Department of Economics & Finance at Zeigler College of Business. The position is to fill temporary vacancies to teach lower level and upper level undergraduate finance courses as needed.

Duties
  • Teach various introductory and upper level courses in finance.
  • Advise students.
  • Conduct research.
  • Serve in the University and Department committees as needed.
  • Location may be any of the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania campuses.
  • Teaching mode can be face‑to‑face, online, or a combination of both.
Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred)
  • A master’s degree in finance or a closely related field is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and prior collegiate teaching experience in Personal Financial Planning, Retirement Planning, Risk Management, and Insurance Planning are preferred.
  • Teaching experience in business, or finance‑related professional certification courses such as CFA, CFP, or CPA is also considered.
  • Completion of scholarly activities such as publications in refereed journals, finance‑related services, and professional certifications is desirable.

Supplemental Information

The position is contingent upon student enrollment and funding availability. Faculty may be assigned to provide instruction through distance education. Offers of employment are conditional, pending successful completion of background clearances mandated by Act 153 of 2014 and Board of Governors Policy 2014-01-A. The remaining PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance must be completed and returned as soon as possible within the first 90 days of employment.
