Job description

Spherion Staffing is hiring an experienced Weld Supervisor for a machine shop in Wichita Falls, TX. The Welding Supervisor directs daily welding operations, acting as the crucial bridge between shop-floor welders and upper management. They ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, while maintaining high quality through rigorous inspections and adherence to company quality expectations. Working hours are Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Training: assign daily tasks, train new hire welders on best practices, and monitor team productivity.
Quality Control and Compliance: enforce the use of approved welding procedure specifications, inspect welds against blueprints and codes, and manage defect repairs to reduce rework.
Safety: ensure workers use proper PPE, maintain shop floor safety, conduct toolbox talks, enforce hot-work permits.
Resource and Cost Management: oversee the usage of consumables, monitor equipment calibration, and ensure machinery is properly maintained.
Skills:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to work in environments with heat, noise, and welding fumes
Knowledge of algebra, geometry very beneficial
Education:
- High school diploma or a GED required

- Welding school diploma desirable
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of hands-on welding and fabrication welding experience

- Previous supervisor/ lead responsibilities
