Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the setup and monitoring of events on the FSU Panama City Campus. This will include the setup of speakers, mixers, cabling, microphones, projectors, and various devices to support a wide variety of audio/visual needs.
  • Responsible for interacting with event coordinators and providing excellent customer service pertaining to the needs of the event.
  • The Events Tech position supports several rooms and event spaces on campus, and the setup will vary depending on the needs of the event.
  • The events technician will assist the scheduling coordinator in contacting customers prior to the event to answer audio/visual questions and provide information about the capabilities of the event spaces.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience relating to the setup and operation of audio/visual equipment.
  • Basic understanding of the principles of sound and audio.

Preferred Qualifications
Relevant audio/visual experience.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check , including a fingerprint-based screening via AHCA's Clearinghouse pursuant to Section 1012, Florida Statutes, for positions in a FSU Developmental Research School or Section 409.175, Florida Statutes, for positions in a Childcare or Summer Camp position. FSU Tech Services staff are willing to provide on-site training to the selected candidate.
A flexible schedule will be required as there are occasional events that start outside normal hours, including occasional weekend events.
