Job Description

Minneapolis College is seeking a temporary, part-time instructor for the Fashion Design Technology Program for the Fall 2026 semester. Specifically, the college is seeking an instructor to teach FADE 1025: Fashion Imaging and FADE 2115: Product Development and Manufacturing.

Salary Range:

Compensation for under 5 credits is $1,650 per semester credit. Those teaching more than five credits are temporary part-time employees and can move to the faculty salary schedule.


Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2025-2027 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess or meet minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State colleges and universities credential field of Apparel Design and Production, # 500191: Visit https://www.minnstate.edu/system/asa/academicaffairs/cfc/fields/500191.html fordetails.

Education Requirement

  • Associate degree in apparel design, fashion design, clothing design, or textiles and clothing

Occupational Experience Requirement

  • Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in apparel design, pattern making, and production

Recency Requirement

  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five yearsimmediatelypreceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience inAdobe Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat.

  • Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity,and inclusion.

  • Demonstrated ability to educate adult learners,multi-linguallearners, studentswith disabilities, and international students.

  • Collaborative team player who is willing to devote time to student success andthe success of students in theFashionDesign Technology Program.

  • Industry-related experience and/or certification in Fashion Design.

  • Previouswork experience in a post-secondary institution

  • Interpersonal and team-building skills
