As a Security Guard Full Time Unarmed Alarm Panel Operator Patrol in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control and alarm response. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while working collaboratively with Allied Universal, guided by integrity, reliability, innovation, and a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, offices, common areas, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and assist with maintaining orderly entry and exit processes.
  • Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
