Time commitment: 40 hours

Reports to: Director of Outreach

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Work Location: In-person, hybrid, or remote. Some travel required.


Mission: Build and sustain referral relationships that support steady census growth while protecting clinical integrity and program fit.


The primary function of the Outreach Officer is to market and promote all Telos programs, generating high-frequency, high-quality referrals for student admissions with an emphasis on out-of-state referral partners. One of the main ways of doing this is to act as a liaison with all referral sources—Educational and Therapeutic Consultants, wilderness programs, hospitals, aftercare, other residential treatment centers, insurance case managers, schools, and professionals in the community. The Outreach Specialist supports communications to improve brand awareness, public perception, and understanding. The Outreach Specialist also has a direct responsibility to implement effective marketing strategies that advertise all Telos programs with measurable results in student admissions and strategic partnerships.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize the generation and maintenance of national referral sources, successfully resulting in student admissions
  • Participate in outreach-related travel - organize, attend, and/or participate in special events and conferences focused on providing in-treatment placement options, including lunch-and-learns, drop-ins, visits to clinical teams, maintenance of existing relationships, etc.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with any potential referral sources, including educational consultants, therapeutic consultants, wilderness programs, and community-based psychiatrists/therapists
  • Serve as spokesperson for the organization at meetings, special and media events as directed by the Director of Outreach
  • Responsible for effectively implementing all outreach and marketing activities, campaigns, and strategies to promote Telos programs. This can be done through a combination of personal contacts, brochures, mass mailings, public presentations, special events, the Internet, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with local, state, and national agencies, employers, and other parties to strengthen public perception and understanding
  • Effectively implement the annual outreach plan that includes promotional and educational strategies, promotional materials, etc.
  • Performs all communication, outreach, marketing, public relations, and media duties relating to Telos companies, as directed
  • Perform regular outreach efforts related to school districts
  • Utilize the outreach department budget responsibly
  • Communicate regularly with consultants to resolve potential customer service-related issues
  • Plan and arrange referral source visits to Telos, including coordinating the tours with other programs outside of Telos and all of necessary tour participants within the Telos programs
  • Assure compliance with in-network insurance contracts
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing/Advertising, Business or Public Administration (preferred but not required)
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Established relationships with referral sources strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Previous experience working within the residential treatment industry is strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to effectively prepare and present information to various groups
  • The ability to work independently or with others to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision is essential
  • Knowledge of marketing principles to develop and implement strategies to promote Telos programs is required
