Our employees enjoy more than just a great work environment! This position will be based at MacDill AFB, FL. Responsibilities: โ€ข Identify, gather and review requirements collection supporting the design and implementation of Wired/wireless LANs.
โ€ข Perform site surveys to design the network and identify the device placement and materials required to implement and configure wired/wireless LANs.
โ€ข Creates and delivers extensive documentation of the design, device location, required materials and integration approach for the wired/wireless network.
โ€ข Relies on extensive knowledge of networks to facilitate the design of wired/wireless LAN/WAN systems and enable their integration into an existing wired network.
โ€ข Performs test and evaluation of wired and wireless networks to confirm performance and security in accordance with established thresholds.
โ€ข Designs and tests prototype network components and configurations to validate designs prior to fielding
โ€ข Provides recommendations to eliminate problems and make improvements.
โ€ข Provides and authors detailed technical documentation to include proposal documentation, integration instructions, assembly.
โ€ข Trains technicians and junior engineers.
โ€ข Leads and directs the work of others to include team members and subcontractors. Job Requirements Qualifications: โ€ข An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or experience (4-6 years).
โ€ข Candidate must be DoD 8140 Cyber IT Workforce compliant. (Security+ or equiv)
โ€ข Experience in general networking and network administration, upgrade and operations.
โ€ข Good technical writing skills with established experience producing reports using the Microsoft Office Suite including Visio. Knowledge of elementary design to the concept level.
โ€ข An understanding of telecommunication room (TR), CAT 6, crimps, and wiring standards. Having a BICSI certification is a plus.
โ€ข Experience with leading teams, site survey, site installation and configuration of 802.11 a/b/g/n Wireless Network equipment. Having Aruba certification is a plus.
โ€ข Use measuring and diagnostic equipment to test, adjust and optimize wireless network system operation.
โ€ข An understanding of wired networks to include equipment (router, switch and VPN), protocols (VLAN, Trunking and QoS) and the propagation of network traffic. Including SDWAN, VXLAN and EVPN.
โ€ข Experience working aloft and understanding of OSHA rules for work on man lifts.
โ€ข In accordance with our travel reimbursement policy, employees must pay for travel expenses in advance which will be timely reimbursed.
โ€ข The ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
โ€ข Exceptional people skills with focus on good customer relations and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of military and government personnel.
