Description

Perform a wide range of transactional and operational duties with proven proficiencies to serve our members with high accuracy in accordance with credit union policies and procedures. Provide excellent service to our members at all times and have strong cross-selling abilities for additional products and services. Must have the ability to solve more complex member problems, transactions and work-related matters with confidence and accuracy. Proactively assist other branch employees without being prompted by the Branch Manager.

Requirements

  1. Member      Service:
    • Greet       and assist members with a friendly and professional demeanor.
    • Answer       member inquiries about financial services, account information, and       general financial products.
  2. Financial      Transactions:
    • Process       deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other financial transactions       accurately.
    • Handle       cash, checks, and electronic payments following proper procedures.
    • Balance       cash drawers and ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly.
  3. Cross-Selling      Products:
    • Promote       and cross-sell additional banking products and services, such as loans,       credit cards, or savings accounts, based on customer needs.
  4. Maintaining      Accuracy:
    • Ensure       all transactions are processed accurately and that all documentation       complies with our policies and regulatory requirements.
  5. Branch      Support:
    • Work       at different branches or locations as needed, providing coverage in       high-demand situations or when other tellers are unavailable.
    • Familiarize       yourself with the policies and procedures of various branches you may       work at.
  6. Security      & Compliance:
    • Adhere       to all security and privacy regulations regarding customers' financial       data.
    • Report       any suspicious activity or potential fraud according to bank policies.
  7. Balancing      & Reporting:
    • Reconcile       cash drawers at the end of shifts.
    • Prepare       daily reports of transactions and ensure that all documentation is       accurate.
  8. Assisting      with Other Tasks:
    • Help       with other branch tasks such as filing, assisting with lobby management,       or providing administrative support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Customer      Service Skills: Ability to communicate well      with customers and create a positive experience.
  • Attention      to Detail: Accuracy in processing      financial transactions and balancing cash.
  • Basic      Computer Skills: Proficiency in using banking      software and general office programs.

Qualifications 

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of one (1) year successful performance as a Teller 1 with demonstrated proficiencies in all transactional and operational tasks and meeting referral goals or minimum experience of two (2) years in a financial institution that involves cash handling, customer service and sales.

Skills

Attention to detail and basic math and numeric sequencing aptitude

Good judgement in order to evaluate identities, accounts, checks, and currency 

Interpersonal skills and provide exceptional member experience with all member interactions

Ability to communicate with members and others at all levels of the Credit Union, in both written and verbal formats

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software applications
