Job description

Database Platform Engineer
We are seeking an Database Platform Engineer to manage and support enterprise database environments across on-premises and Azure platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring database availability, security, performance, backup/recovery, and compliance while partnering with infrastructure, application, and data teams to support critical business systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across production, development, test, and disaster recovery environments.
  • Monitor database health, performance, and availability; perform tuning, patching, and upgrades.
  • Design and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Manage database security, access controls, and support SOX/IT audit compliance.
  • Optimize query performance, indexing, and overall database scalability.
  • Support application upgrades, migrations, integrations, and reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and analytics teams, including support for the Microsoft Fabric environment.
  • Maintain documentation and execute changes through established change management processes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft SQL Server administration experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and high availability.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production systems.
  • Microsoft SQL certification preferred.

Preferred Experience:
  • ERP platforms such as JD Edwards.
  • PowerShell or T-SQL scripting.
  • High availability/disaster recovery architectures.
  • SOX or other highly regulated environments.
