Product Manager - Network Components
Nature & Scope
The Product Manager is responsible for monitoring the performance of the assigned product groups, taking action to achieve the sales, operating profit and finished goods inventory plan and recommending alternative tactics to improve financials.
Reporting to the Commercial Operations Senior Manager, the Product Manager is accountable for daily and strategic management of pricing and inventory and synchronizing pricing within the quotation and ERP system, contractual agreements, and projects. The Product Manager primarily works cross-functionally with inside sales, other business team members, engineering, outside sales, supply chain and operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates quotation activity for the applicable product categories
  • Implements pricing strategies consistent with overall business strategies
  • Creates and maintains competitive pricing database and reports as necessary to understand market environment and competitive position
  • Assists the Inside Sales team in the coordination of cost/engineering/manufacturing information required for quotations
  • Reviews and analyzes product cost, pricing and product mix for daily quotation activity. Drive formal quotation process
  • Responsible for major bids contractual pricing
  • Perform customer/product profitability analysis, operating as a key contributor towards maximizing profitability of the business
  • Review/approval responsibility for customer complaint system (ZClaim) and create reports for analyzing customer complaint trends and identification of potential improvement projects
  • Review monthly service metrics with Supply Chain to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Manage the quality of inventory in conjunction with Sales and Supply Chain with responsibility to manage the surplus, slow moving and obsolete inventory system and recommend appropriate adjustments
  • Responsible for monthly product specific forecast of units, revenue, and contribution margin
  • Monitor performance metrics including but not limited to forecast, service, and operating profit; recommending gap closure plans when necessary
  • Work with outside sales and sales agents on customer and market strategies.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to sales regions
  • Product/MPG responsibility
  • Coordinate new product development with Engineering
  • P&L management, Annual Management Planning and long Term Strategic Planning

Key Job Requirements:
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Excel
  • Proficiency in statistical tools including data mining, trend analysis, correlation and forecasting
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and be an influencer within a matrix organization.
  • Ability to think and act LEAN to streamline process appropriately relative to all Sales, Marketing and Product Management functions

Travel:
  • Potential trips to customer locations, manufacturing sites, and trade shows (<10%), company travel policy permitting

Education:
• Bachelor's degree with a preference in Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain or Finance
Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience in a combination of product management, sales, or supply chain
  • Experience working in different business units a plus
