Job description

Superintendent – Telecommunications / Low Voltage, Structured Cabling

Lead the field. Own the project. Build what’s next.

IES Communications is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead medium-to-large telecommunications and technology infrastructure projects from the field. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to manage crews, coordinate with customers and trades, solve problems, and keep projects moving safely, on schedule, and within budget.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and mentor project teams, including hiring, training, staffing, and daily workload management
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for customers and project stakeholders
  • Oversee installation, quality, safety, productivity, and project completion
  • Manage schedules, materials, job costs, documentation, and customer deliverables
  • Conduct job walks, quality inspections, and troubleshoot technical issues in the field
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes, estimates, and project requirements
  • Partner with Project Managers, Training, Quality, and Operations teams to drive project success
  • Identify opportunities to improve field processes, productivity, and customer experience
  • Lead project meetings and training while promoting safety as our #1 priority

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, low-voltage, or a related construction/technical field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar role
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, project scopes, estimating, and field operations
  • Proven ability to lead crews and take a project from planning through customer turnover
  • Strong communication, organization, troubleshooting, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work on large jobsites, at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces
  • Ability to travel within the branch/regional territory as needed

Why IES Communications?

This is an opportunity to take your field leadership experience to the next level while working on complex technology infrastructure projects. Superintendent is a key step toward a Project Manager career path, giving you the opportunity to expand your leadership, project management, and financial skills while continuing to leverage your technical background.

  • If you're a Lead Technician, Foreman, General Foreman, or experienced telecommunications construction leader ready for your next step, we'd love to hear from you.
