Job Title: Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Analyst / Consultant - Hybrid

Job Summary: Next Generation, Inc., an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Analyst / Consultant to support enterprise telecom cost optimization initiatives.

This role focuses on managing, analyzing, and optimizing telecom expenses, including wireless, voice, data, and related IT services such as cloud-based communications. The consultant will work with large datasets, vendor invoices, and financial reports to identify cost-saving opportunities, eliminate inefficiencies, and ensure accurate billing and asset management.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in data analytics, financial analysis, telecom expense auditing, and reporting, along with the ability to communicate complex insights to leadership and stakeholders. This role will also support the development and optimization of processes for telecom expense tracking, reporting, forecasting, and vendor management.

Job Responsibilities:

Analyze telecom expenses across wireless, voice, data, and cloud services to identify cost savings opportunities and eliminate billing inefficiencies.

Perform detailed invoice audits to identify overcharges, discrepancies, and unused services across telecom carriers.

Work with large datasets and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and SQL to ensure data accuracy and generate actionable insights.

Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to leadership.

Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting related to telecom spend, vendor contracts, and procurement activities.

Track and monitor telecom assets, usage, and spend, ensuring alignment between internal systems and vendor records.

Analyze and reconcile data across systems such as ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, and telecom carrier portals.

Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to streamline telecom expense management workflows.

Evaluate vendor contracts, invoices, and spend against budget allocations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Support vendor management activities, including invoice validation, payment tracking, and contract analysis.

Generate and analyze zero-usage and underutilization reports to identify cost reduction opportunities.

Perform high-volume data validation across large telecom inventories, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to support telecom expense management initiatives.

Prepare forecast reports, budget tracking reports, and variance analysis for leadership review.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to telecom billing, asset tracking, and financial reporting.

Stay current with emerging telecom technologies and expense management best practices.

Preferred Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

10+ years of experience

Experience in Telecom Expense Management (TEM) including auditing telecom invoices managing wireless & wired services and optimizing telecom spend.

Strong expertise in data analytics and financial analysis, with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.

Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas), databases, and reporting tools such as Tableau and Power BI.

Experience working with ServiceNow and PeopleSoft for reporting, asset tracking, and financial analysis.

Familiarity with SQL and data querying techniques.

Proven ability to analyze large-scale data reports, financial systems, and telecom usage datasets.

Strong experience in invoice analysis, vendor payments, and budget tracking.

Experience developing reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.

Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements, cost-saving opportunities, and automation strategies.

Knowledge of telecom carriers, billing structures, and contract management practices.

Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and project-based financial management.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform high-volume work accurately.
