Job Summary:

Belden is currently seeking a Project Manager. This position will be responsible for the new product development (NPD) process for broadband products. This role will drive products from concept to release to market, encompassing and managing all aspects of the design and new product introduction process while ensuring schedule, product requirements, and target costs are maintained. This position is an onsite (hybrid) role based out of our East Syracuse Office and reports to the Process & Project Manager.

You will make a difference in the following ways:

  • Support and development of long-term broadband strategy - including development of new product families.
  • Partner with the design engineering and product management teams to move development projects through the gate process from conception through market launch.
  • Train team members in NPD process and standards. Mentor and teach more junior members of the team.
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure operational strategy is established and ready to support market launch. Collaborate with Supply Chain team on selection of applicable vendors.
  • Create and sustain global training processes for project management & collaboration tools.  Ensure best practices are maintained throughout the team.

What you bring:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical engineering preferred) with five (5) years in project management in a new product development role, additional years will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Knowledge & Skills: phase gate process (Project Management Profession a plus), fiber optic products and telecom industry a plus. Project management software (Monday.com a plus)
  • Knowledge & Skills: Cost benefit analysis on project/improvement proposals and ideas. Strong problem-solving skills.  Analyse data and make data driven decisions
