Job Description
Adesta, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Technician I. The Technician I - Telecom is responsible for identifying underground utilities, construction oversight, general building maintenance, and reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide support for building inspections and maintenance of systems including but not limited to; 48VDC, UPS, HVAC and GenSet
  • Utilize working knowledge of installation standards and procedures for fiber optic distribution panels
  • General maintenance includes housekeeping, weed-whacking, snow removal, etc.
  • Observe active construction work and protect existing facilities through routine cable route surveillance
  • Coordinate meetings with ROW owners to assess actual and/or potential conflicts with the company's fiber infrastructure; work with other team members to design a modified route, if necessary
  • Perform routine inspections
  • May be required to be on-call (24X7) on a rotating schedule for network emergencies

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Valid driver's license, if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience with telecommunications systems
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and other documents
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in construction, telecommunications network maintenance, electrical work, security systems, and/or fiber optic splicing and testing
  • College degree in information technology, engineering, or related field of study

BENEFITS:

  • Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
  • Vacation time is offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
