Job description

TekCom Resources is seeking a Telecom Plant Manager for a full-time opportunity supporting fiber broadband expansion projects throughout north-central Arkansas. This role will oversee outside plant construction, installation, maintenance, and repair activities for both residential and commercial broadband customers.
This position requires a hands-on understanding of both Telecom Construction and Telecom In-Home Installation & Repair operations. The Plant Manager will oversee both functional groups and will be expected to serve as the subject matter expert across outside plant construction, customer installation practices, service repair operations, safety standards, and telecom infrastructure best practices.
This is an excellent opportunity for a telecom professional with strong OSP leadership experience who is passionate about expanding fiber connectivity into rural communities. The ideal candidate will have experience managing fiber, copper, and coaxial outside plant operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate all outside plant construction, installation, and repair activities
  • Conduct quality control inspections for construction, installation, and repair work
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support customer satisfaction and service delivery
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion
  • Maintain accurate records related to budgets, schedules, materials, and equipment usage
  • Read and interpret staking sheets, circuit designs, geographical survey maps, and network documentation
  • Oversee contractors and field personnel performing outside plant work
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and perform root cause analysis related to service disruptions
  • Provide leadership and technical oversight for both Telecom Construction and In-Home Installation & Repair teams
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for telecom construction practices, broadband service installation, and service repair operations
  • Develop and maintain training materials, operational documentation, and best practices for field personnel
  • Ensure all field operations comply with OSHA safety standards, telecom industry guidelines, and company safety policies
  • Support compliance with Federal broadband grant program requirements including RUS and BEAD initiatives

  • Experience leading both outside plant and customer-facing telecom service teams

  • Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and telecom industry safety standards
  • Experience supporting Federal grant-funded broadband deployments including RUS and BEAD programs
  • Experience supporting rural broadband or FTTH deployments
  • Experience managing contractors and construction crews
  • Knowledge of fiber distribution and network expansion projects
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in telecom operations
  • Familiarity with telecom permitting and utility coordination
