POSITION OVERVIEW: As an Operator at LJA Telecom, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment such as excavators, directional drills, and Vac-Tron/Hydro-Vac machines, as well as loading/unloading equipment and accurately executing job scopes while following strict safety procedures.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Operating a variety of equipment to included but not limited to excavators, directional drills, Vac-Tron or Hyrdo-Vac
  • Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used for transport
  • Following all safety requirements and using appropriate safety equipment and safety procedures in performing duties
  • Ability to read and execute job scope accurately; correctly decode standard utility marking

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Valid driver’s license required.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum 1 year experience safely operating machinery to included but not limited to excavators, directional drills, Vac-Tron or Hyrdo-Vac
    • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety precautions for heavy equipment operation; and traffic laws and regulations relating to the operation of assigned equipment.
    • Must be able to bend, climb, and squat to perform job duties in the field.
    • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
    • Must have sufficient hand and finger dexterity to safely operate tools and equipment.
    • Must be able to detect odors and fumes as necessary for safe work performance.
    • Must be able to walk, stand, and work outdoors for extended periods in various conditions.
    • Must have adequate hearing and vision to perform duties safely and effectively.
    • Must be 21 years or older to be considered for this position
    • Must be willing and able to travel for project sites and team coordination
