Job description

Job Overview

At HGUS, we are committed to innovation and excellence in our product lines. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Product Engineer to support, sustain, and enhance our products. This role is pivotal in ensuring our products not only meet but exceed customer expectations through technical evaluations, enhancements, and product definition. 

The Product Engineer will be instrumental in both the technical and customer-facing aspects of our product lifecycle. From supporting new product development to leading continuous improvement initiatives, this role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple facets of engineering processes while collaborating effectively with various teams.

A Day In The Life
  • Create or modify CAD Models, Drawings, Costing, BOM/Routers and Specifications for HGUS product
  • Manage engineering changes and requests for deviations.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of new and existing products
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit Manager, Product Managers, Production personnel and Director of Engineering in sustainment of New and existing product lines
  • Manage engineering projects such as creation of new SKU's and configurations
  • Troubleshoot and provide failure analysis on defective materials
  • Engage in product enhancement projects to meet internal standards and customer needs.
  • Work with customers through sales or directly to clarify specifications and provide technical solutions, quotations, and presentations.
  • Lead and collaborate on engineering projects related to the life cycle of our products
  • Participate in industry groups like AGA, PPI, ASTM, and others related to Natural Gas Products.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Provide both pre-sale technical presentations and post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist team members and contribute to other tasks as needed.
  • Interpret customer specifications and applications and provide solutions, quotations, and presentations.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • CAD/SolidWorks experience in 2d and 3d including PDM vault and must be able to create and manipulate models and drawings
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years in engineering, drafting and product development
  • Proven track record successfully managing multiple projects at the same
  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Project Manager experience is a plus
  • Must be a good team player, with experience working with cross functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, operations, etc)
  • Solid team player who works for advancement of team results, not self-promotion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent skills in both written and oral communication
  • Strengths in interpersonal skills a plus
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must possess strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft office, excel, word, outlook, etc...)
  • Must be results oriented, with strong motivation to succeed.
  • Must have proven ability to meet project objectives and time lines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft project or other project management software a plus
  • Travel may be required but no more than about 25%
