Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Accesses, proposes, and delivers LAN/WAN/VLAN networking solutions.
  2. Researches and recommends network and communication technologies.
  3. Develops, administers, and promotes proactive system standards, procedures, and protocols, including configurations and system security.
  4. Maintains file server asset and license information.
  5. Installs, configures, supports and maintains the Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, internet systems, VLAN, PCs, printers, servers, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, and other computer peripheral hardware utilized by Norwegian American Hospital.
  6. Monitors network and resolves issues to ensure all systems are available for users and patients.
  7. Assists in system performance tuning and capacity management.
  8. Performs routine backups and archival of systems according to current policy and procedures, and assists with data and system disaster recovery procedures as necessary.
  9. Develops and maintains downtime procedures and disaster recovery plans.
  10. Utilizes task tracking and quality change control management processes and tools.
  11. Participates in the planning and evaluation of current and future system needs in support of ongoing business requirements.
  12. Administers user account and system security adds, deletions, and change requests to ensure data integrity, patient confidentiality, and overall system security, including dial in solutions, VPN, and other Secure portal accesses.
  13. Provides technical training to others in the Information Technology Department as needed.
  14. Provides one-on-one or class room training related to Information Technologies.
  15. Directs and oversees the technical tasks of others, including multi-disciplinary teams.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar coursework preferred.
A+, MCP, MCSE Certification or equivalent preferred.
5 or more years of experience.
