Job description

Location: Indianapolis, IN Salary: $55.00 USD Hourly - $75.00 USD Hourly Description:
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Telecommunications Engineer to support equipment engineering, database management, and network infrastructure planning. In this role, you will drive end-to-end engineering execution, ensure data accuracy across systems, and partner cross-functionally to deliver scalable network solutions.
What You'll Do
Equipment & Network Engineering
  • Perform location-specific equipment engineering, including installation specifications, configuration, and turn-up requirements
  • Define and validate floor space, rack layouts, cable routing, and hardware placement
  • Design and assign power, cooling, airflow, fuse, and breaker requirements
  • Ensure all engineering work meets technical, operational, and financial standards
  • Document network elements (facilities, bays, shelves, alarms) with accurate identifiers and labeling

Systems & Data Management
  • Maintain and update engineering systems (e.g., UUI/CoFEE, ICON, CCP, VPNS, ACTP, Venue, FUZE)
  • Manage and update build data in tools such as IFP, XNG, and SPM
  • Build and automate reports using Google Workspace (Docs, Forms) and Tableau
  • Act as a Database Administrator (DBA) to ensure systems are efficient, reliable, and scalable

Program Execution & Collaboration
  • Create workflows and manage engineering deliverables across multiple programs
  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement, purchase orders, and equipment delivery
  • Partner with regional teams and lead engineers to resolve issues and unblock execution
  • Track progress, escalate risks, and recommend process improvements with national impact

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in network engineering, telecom infrastructure, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with equipment engineering and deployment planning
  • Strong database and reporting experience, including Google Workspace and Tableau
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams with high attention to detail
  • Experience working with engineering and operational systems in complex environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with telecommunications networks or large-scale infrastructure deployments
  • Familiarity with engineering systems such as UUI/CoFEE, ICON, CCP, or similar
  • Knowledge of automation, reporting tools, or workflow optimization
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive process improvements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (preferred)
