Neuro Stepdown RN

The unit specializes in caring for neuro stepdown/progressive patients. Nurses will be responsible for drip titration for experienced clinicians. Those without experience will float to MedSurg/tele units as needed. The equipment utilized includes EPIC, PYXIS, Philips defibrillator, and Philips Bedside Monitors. The nurse to patient ratio is 3-4:1 on Progressive Care and 4-5:1 on MedSurg. Floating to like units is required. If floated to MedSurg, nurses will maintain a 1:3 ratio. Three weekend shifts are required within a 4-week schedule. Travelers will undergo a specific training program for orientation. Nurses will never work alone on this unit. The dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs.
