The Role: The Technical Architect of Global Partnerships

(US Remote & Most EMEA Hubs considered)

As the Director of Telco and Cloud Partner Technical Marketing, you are the bridge between SUSE's engineering innovation and the commercial engines of our most strategic global partners. Your mission is to ensure that when AWS, Google Cloud, or a Tier-1 Telco talks about "Modern Infrastructure," they are talking about SUSE.

You will lead a team of senior technical partner marketers responsible for the "Better Together" technical narrative. You aren't just managing collateral; you are managing executive-level technical relationships. You will partner with Cloud and Telco architects to build pre-validated blueprints, lighthouse solutions, and "Technical Sales Plays" that drive billion-dollar marketplace opportunities.

What You'll Do:

1. Executive Cloud Partner Alliance Strategy (AWS, OCI, Azure, GCP)

  • The Marketplace Engine: Drive the technical strategy to capture the ~$1.1B CSP marketplace opportunity. Ensure SUSE solutions are optimized, featured, and "one-click ready" on major public cloud platforms.
  • Hyperscaler Interlock: Manage executive-level technical relationships at AWS, Oracle Google, and Microsoft. Partner with their engineering teams to ensure SUSE Rancher and SLES are the "Foundational Linux & Kubernetes" of choice for their enterprise customers.

2. Telco Ecosystem Leadership

  • The Carrier Spine: Establish SUSE as the trusted common foundation for modern telco infrastructure.
  • Vertical Innovation: Partner with global Telcos to architect "Sovereign Telco" solutions that comply with NIS2 and other regional regulations.

3. Team Leadership & People Development

  • Lead by Example: Manage a global team of Partner Marketing Managers. You are responsible for their professional development, coaching, and ensuring they have the "Technical Credibility" to sit across from a Lead Architect at a major partner.
  • Culture of Excellence: Foster a high-performance culture that values technical accuracy, customer empathy, and speed-to-market.

4. Technical GTM & Solution Blueprints

  • The "Validated" Standard: Oversee the creation of technical blueprints and reference architectures that prove SUSE's performance on partner hardware and cloud instances.
  • Enablement at Scale: Drive "Partner Enablement" programs that teach thousands of partner SEs (Systems Engineers) how to position SUSE within their specific cloud or telco environment.
Core Competencies:
  • Leading & Developing People: You are skilled at assembling complementary teams and building succession plans. You lead through empowerment, not micromanagement.
  • Influencing with Empathy: As a matrixed leader, you build mutually beneficial relationships across complex, global partner organizations. You understand the partner's "Why" as much as our "What."
  • Strategic Thinking: You can anticipate the next 12-18 months of Cloud and Telco trends, ensuring our technical marketing stays ahead of the convergence of 5G, Edge, AI, etc.
  • Adaptable Resilience: You navigate the high-stakes, fast-changing world of hyperscaler alliances without losing momentum or team morale.
Recommended Experience:
  • 12+ Years in Technical Marketing or Solutions Architecture: Specifically within the Cloud (SaaS/IaaS) or Telecommunications sectors.
  • Cloud Native Fluency: Deep understanding of Kubernetes, Linux, and the "Infrastructure as Code" movement.
  • Executive Presence: Proven experience managing senior technical relationships at Fortune 500 partners.
  • Marketplace Expertise: Familiarity with the commercial and technical mechanics of AWS Marketplace, Oracle Marketplace, Azure Foundry, or Google Cloud Marketplace.
Specific 2026 Focus Areas:

Sovereign Cloud Technical Launch: Partner with AWS/Azure on their "Sovereign Cloud" initiatives to ensure SUSE is the default OS/Orchestration layer.

Edge-to-Cloud Telco Blueprint: Deliver the definitive technical architecture for "Zero-Touch Edge" in partnership with a major global carrier.

AI-Ready Infrastructure: Collaborate with partners to showcase how SUSE + Partner Cloud/Hardware creates the most efficient environment for RAG and Agentic AI workloads.
