This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Telco Cloud Field Engineer based in Netherlands.

As a Telco Cloud Field Engineer, you will help telecommunications providers accelerate their transition toward cloud-native, software-defined infrastructure. Working closely with customers, you will design, implement, and optimize scalable cloud platforms supporting next-generation network technologies, including 5G and edge computing. This highly technical, customer-facing role combines solution architecture, consulting, and hands-on engineering, offering the opportunity to work with leading open-source technologies in complex production environments. You will collaborate with global teams, influence product evolution through customer feedback, and contribute to the adoption of modern cloud infrastructure across the telecommunications industry.

Accountabilities
  • Design and deliver cloud-native telecommunications infrastructure supporting VNF, CNF, NFV, MEC, and software-defined networking workloads.
  • Translate customer requirements into scalable cloud platform architectures using open-source technologies.
  • Provide technical pre-sales consulting and architectural guidance to telecommunications service providers.
  • Deploy, configure, and optimize private, hybrid, and multi-tenant cloud environments using OpenStack, Kubernetes, MAAS, Ceph, and related technologies.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate deployments and operational processes.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues identified during customer implementations.
  • Support customer onboarding, production readiness, and successful adoption of cloud-native solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to drive product improvements based on customer feedback and field experience.
  • Contribute to technical discussions that help shape future cloud and telecommunications platform capabilities.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications cloud infrastructure, including NFVi, VIM, NFVO, VNFM, MEC, and technologies such as CPU Pinning, NUMA, SR-IOV, and DPDK.
  • Experience with telecommunications architectures and industry standards.
  • Practical knowledge of one or more telecommunications domains, including Mobile Packet Core (4G/5G), Private Networks, Radio Access Networks (RAN), Voice, IP Backbone, VAS, or OSS/BSS.
  • Solid hands-on experience with Linux, networking, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and infrastructure development.
  • Experience leading complex technical projects from design through successful delivery.
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication, collaboration, and consulting skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required for customer engagements, project delivery, and industry events.
  • Additional experience with open-source contributions, AI applications in telecommunications, frameworks such as 3GPP, ETSI NFV, TM Forum ODA, O-RAN, ONAP, or proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French is considered an advantage.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary with opportunities for annual compensation reviews.
  • Performance-based bonuses or incentive programs where applicable.
  • Fully remote working environment with long-standing remote-first culture.
  • Annual learning and professional development budget of USD 2,000.
  • Recognition and reward programs.
  • Generous annual leave package including public holidays and company-wide holiday periods.
