This is a hands-on, project-based role requiring deep expertise in structural analysis, steel and rack design, and close collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and project teams.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $102,750 - $150,700 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What you will do in this role:

  • Travel: Approximately 25%
  • Lead and coordinate Dematic North America'sracking and structural engineering initiatives
  • Support all phases of projects includingconcept development, structural design, engineering, installation, and commissioning
  • Develop and review structural designs at bothsystem and component levels, ensuring safe operation, code compliance, and sustainability
  • Perform and overseestructural analysis, steel design, and connection design
  • Create and review3D models, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Managestructural engineering budgets and design schedulesfor assigned projects; communicate status to project teams and management
  • Supportinternal product development, including design validation and testing
  • Partner with theSales teamto develop and review racking and structural design concepts
  • Liaise closely withmanufacturing, purchasing, quality, safety, site managers, subcontractors, and customersto ensure successful project execution
  • Support technical and concept reviews and ensure adherence to Dematic's engineering processes and standards
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to other engineers

Rack and Steel Structure Design

  • Industrial steel storage racks and ASRS structures
  • Structural steel and coldformed steel design
  • Connections and rolled coldformed sections

Codes & Standards (familiarity required)

  • AISC LRFD Specification for Structural Steel Buildings
  • AISI Specification for ColdFormed Steel Design
  • RMI Specification for Industrial Steel Storage Racks
  • FEM 9.831 / 9.832
  • US Seismic Design Standards
  • Local, State, and US Building Codes
  • Knowledge of broader North American standards is a plus

Software Tools

  • AutoCAD
  • RISA 2D/3D or equivalent structural analysis software
  • Tekla Structures (or willingness to learn)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

What we are looking for:

  • B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering(Structural emphasis preferred); advanced degree a plus
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 8+ years of progressive experiencein structural engineering, preferably within the material handling or industrial steel structures industry
  • Demonstrated ability to solvehigh-impact, complex, and cross-functional engineering problems
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of integrity and attention to detail
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with confidence to engage at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring and supporting professional staff
