Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D structural models using Tekla Structures and SmartPLANT 3D with minimal supervision.
  • Perform structural 3D modeling for structural steel frames, equipment support structures, access platforms, ladders, stairs, module support frames, and foundations as applicable.
  • Generate comprehensive structural drawings, including general arrangement drawings, steel framing layouts, connection and detailing drawings, and material take-offs.
  • Coordinate closely with piping, equipment, electrical, and civil teams to resolve clashes and ensure proper clearances, access, and constructability.
  • Support module-based design by incorporating transport, lifting, and erection considerations into the structural models and drawings.
  • Participate in model reviews at key project stages (30%, 60%, 90%) and actively support clash detection and resolution.
  • Ensure structural models comply with project specifications and applicable codes and standards, including AISC, AWS, and IBC.
  • Maintain accurate model data and promptly incorporate engineering changes and revisions.
  • Support fabrication and construction by delivering clear, accurate, and constructible models and drawings that meet field needs.
  • Deliver design outputs in alignment with project schedules, milestones, and quality requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of structural modeling workflows, Tekla Structures templates, and SmartPLANT 3D integration.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing structural modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices.
