Job description

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for knowing and following Corporate and Plant Safety rules for each Teijin facility.
  • Support of all Teijin plant locations by training associates in Hydraulic concepts and integrated electrical controls associated with plant specific equipment.
  • Assessment of press hydraulic, control and mechanical systems company wide.
  • Analyze, prioritize and support plant CAPEX planning for refurbishments and retrofits.
  • Support facilities with onsite assistance trouble shooting and repairing hydraulic, mechanical and control systems.
  • Support Hydraulic System calibrations company wide.
  • Ability to be available on all shifts in emergency situations as deemed appropriate by the Director.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment
  • Ensure compliance with all AITF16949 and IS0-14001 requirements and prevention of recurring nonconformance when noticed.
  • Develop Training programs to grow plant level associates and reduce downtime associated with hydraulic system failures.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned by the Director of Facilities Engineering and Asset Management (or his/her designee).
  • Responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met.

Deliverables:

Education:

  • Minimum high school diploma with hydraulic certification & 10 years' hydraulic compression press experience, or Mechanical Engineering degree with 5 years of hydraulic compression press experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of hydraulic systems typically used in a Compression and Injection Molding applications.
  • High proficiency in reading blueprints, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Welding and machining experience a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of Oilgear, Vickers and Rexroth hydraulic components and their application in the field.
  • PLC control knowledge required
  • Microsoft Office and Cad computer skills required
  • Communication skills both oral and written required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Routinely lifting or carrying loads of 40 lbs. floor to chest and occasionally lift or carry 60 lbs.
  • Repetitive motion of hands and shoulders.
  • Some exposures to chemicals.
  • Climb ladders at least 20' in height and work from heights in excess of 35'.
  • Climb aboard a standard forklift repeatedly in an 8-hour period of time.
  • Capable and willing to crawl, crouch, lay prone and work within tight areas.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Operation of forklifts, man lifts and other company vehicles as necessary.
  • Knowledge of chemicals used in production.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Use of telephone, computer, radios, paging systems and other communication devices as needed.
  • Work in close proximity to high temperature molds (290-320 degrees).
  • Must be able to travel, as required.

Candidate will receive training to perform your job on an on-going basis concurrent with business operations. Training areas will include safety, quality, continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of this job and business operations.
