• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to understand client needs and formulate individualized therapy strategies.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to clients, including individuals, families, couples, and groups, using techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care, actively participating in case discussions and treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
• Engage in continual professional development through workshops, training sessions, and review of current mental health research to stay informed about best practices in the field.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor with the Teens Advocate Program, you will primarily work with a dynamic client population that includes adolescents and adults seeking support for various mental health challenges. This includes but is not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Your role will be crucial in providing tailored support to those who may encounter barriers to accessing care, ensuring they receive empathetic and effective treatment.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Connecticut.
• A minimum of two years of experience in counseling, preferably in a clinical setting.
• A solid understanding of legal and ethical standards within the mental health profession.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with a diverse clientele.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and related documentation technologies.

• Specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, substance abuse counseling, or trauma-informed care is highly preferable.
• Prior experience working with underserved populations is advantageous, emphasizing the importance of cultural competency and sensitivity.

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and caseload capacity.
