Pregnancy Care Center of Grants Pass (PCC) provides medical services, education, and resources that give value to all human life, while offering hope and restoration. Established in 1988, PCC operates as a trusted, community funded, faith-based, non-profit, and accredited medical center in Southern Oregon. Services are provided free of charge to all, regardless of age, gender, marital status, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious belief. ย

Objectives of the position: The Epic Assistant is responsible for outreach efforts, communicating with, and providing support to other pregnancy centers licensing the Epic program, the abstinence-encouragement program of Pregnancy Care Center. Also responsible for assisting the Epic Coordinator in developing and presenting Epic to middle and high school students in both public and private schools and other venues in Josephine and Jackson counties.
Reports to: Epic Coordinator.
Hourly Wage: $17.50-$18.75.
Qualifications:
  • Exhibit skill in interpersonal communication, writing, and problem solving.
  • Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision.
  • Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity.
  • Agree with and be willing to sign the Statement of Values.
  • Follow the policies of the organization.
  • Possess experience presenting to an audience and an ability to effectively connect with teenagers.
  • Be willing to regularly travel within Josephine and Jackson counties utilizing personal vehicle while keeping accurate records of miles driven for insurance and reimbursement purposes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all corporate, financial, and patient/client information.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively seek opportunities to reach students with Epic, the abstinence-encouragement program of Pregnancy Care Center, through direct local presentations or through licensing to other pregnancy centers.
  • Facilitate training for presenters, observe practices and school presentations, and create training videos as needed.
  • Assist presenters from licensing centers, including organizing and distributing Epic presentation materials to licensed centers.
  • Obtain statistics, narratives, and reflections from centers licensing Epic.
  • Work within approved budgets and maintain presentation supplies for Epic presentations; research new supplies, media, and materials for Epic.ย 
  • Present Epic program in schools, youth groups, and other venues when Epic Coordinator is unavailable in accordance with Oregon education expectations of not using scare-tactics or shame-based methods.
  • Assist Epic Coordinator where needed in developing program.ย 
  • Assist in strategic planning for future development of abstinence-based programs.
  • Utilize personal vehicle to travel to schools and other venues within Josephine and Jackson counties.ย 
  • Assist with maintaining contact with school administrators and teachers.
  • Attend staff and other applicable meetings. If unavailable to attend a meeting, read meeting minutes where applicable.
