Job description

Our Eagle Academy Y Teens program is seeking a Support Specialist to join the team! This role is responsible for supporting the coordinator and creating a friendly, helpful, positive atmosphere for everyone who enters the Y program through providing leadership and implementing program, safety and engagement activities.

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA's Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position at 15-17 hours weekly. Schedule requirements are Monday through Thursday, 1:30pm-4:30pm. Pay: $17.05-$21.31/hour.

Work Location: Eagle Academy | 100 Academy Ave., Eagle, ID 83616

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the coordinator to ensure Program operations are consistent with approved Leading Practices which includes legal obligations, licensing requirements, child abuse prevention, marketing strategies, and Y policies and procedures.
  • Assist in Supervising Child Development staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, coaching, scheduling, and on-going development.
  • Fulfill all job requirements from the Child Development School Age or Early Childhood Teacher job description when assigned.
  • Functions as a point person in handling and resolving concerns and informs supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year working with children is required.
  • Minimum 6 months of management experience is preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Boise City and/ or Idaho State Child Care License - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
  • Pediatric CPR/AED - Prerequisite upon hire - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
  • First Aid - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
