Facilities Assistant

Our Facilities and Security team is looking for a dedicated Facilities Assistant to help keep our health centers safe, welcoming, and operating at their best. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that primarily works a weekday schedule, with flexibility to coordinate occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency responses with the Facilities and Security Manager.

Your work directly impacts the experience of our patients and staff by ensuring our health centers are safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Job Duties:
  • Keep Our Health Centers Running Smoothly: Work alongside the Facilities & Security Manager to maintain safe, clean, and fully operational spaces. You will help perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and complete routine light repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building upkeep, while accurately documenting tasks across all locations.

  • Support Facility Improvements: Partner with the Manager to coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams on maintenance projects, renovations, and equipment installations. You'll help prepare workspaces, oversee project logistics on-site, and help bring facility improvements to life with minimal disruption to daily operations.

  • Learn and Support Security Operations: Serve as a trusted backup for facility security. Under the direct guidance of the Facilities & Security Manager, you will gain hands-on experience assisting with cameras, alarm systems, badge access, and other security technologies, while helping to respond to and document security incidents.

  • Champion Safety & Compliance: Help ensure our health centers meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and readiness. You will assist with emergency preparedness activities, keep tabs on facility and emergency supply inventories, and uphold organizational policies, including HIPAA, confidentiality, and workplace safety.

  • Be the Team Problem Solver: No two days are the same! You'll adapt to changing priorities by setting up meeting and event spaces, responding quickly to unexpected health center needs, supporting multiple locations, and providing occasional after-hours or on-call emergency assistance to keep operations moving.

  • Make an Impact Every Day: Your work behind the scenes directly supports our patients, staff, and mission by creating welcoming, functional, and dependable spaces where high-quality healthcare can thrive.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, is eager to learn, and is excited to grow their career in facilities management. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A Strong Foundation: A high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel regularly between our various health center locations.

  • An Eagerness to Learn: Experience with general maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, or security systems is a plus but not required. If you have a strong mechanical curiosity and want to learn from an experienced manager, we will provide the hands-on training you need to succeed.

  • A Hands-On Mindset: The physical ability to safely perform building and grounds work, including standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.

  • Comfort with Technology: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and a willingness to learn facility management software, security systems, and other internal tools.

  • A Service-First Attitude: Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks while delivering reliable support to our health center staff and vendors.
