Description
Telecom Construction Lead: provide leadership and oversight for s assigned in carrying out field-based construction activities in coordination with Telecom third party contractors. The area of responsibilities includes but are not limited to, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations and policies, civil site preparation, material tracking and inventory, underground conduit installation, installation of telecom prefabricated equipment shelters, equipment racks and any project related demo activities. Ensure adherence to all applicable engineering standards and specifications (QAQC).  Ensure adherence to appropriate project sequencing and execution.  Provide the Project team with construction status as required.

Key Areas Responsibilities:

           

  • Establish a strong culture of Safety and Environmental compliance with all applicable regulations and policies
  • Provide an appropriate level of oversight for work activities associated with the installation of Telecom assets in accordance with engineering drawings, engineering specifications and standards, scope of work documents, all applicable permits, construction best practices in accordance with established OSHA safety regulations and client's policies
  • Possess an understanding of contract fundamentals and experience enforcing the terms of a contract in a field setting.
  • Provide project scoping and construction feasibility input as requested
  • Review, prioritize and facilitate construction activities to meet project schedule
  • Provide project updates on construction activities as requested
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to FCRs
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and personnel as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, or Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology, or Construction Management or associated degree; with 2 years of experience in the utility industry
  • Associate degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management, or associated degree; with 4 years of experience in the utility industry
  • High School degree or equivalent with 10 years minimum experience in the utility industry
  • Must complete OSHA 30hr course

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel 90% of working time
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products, iOS devices, web-based applications, etc.
