About the Role
As a Technology Specialist - MoveIT File Transfer, you will make an impact by supporting, administering, and optimizing secure managed file transfer solutions that enable reliable data exchange across enterprise applications, business partners, and external vendors. You will be a valued member of the Middleware and Application Support team and work collaboratively with infrastructure, network, security, application, and business teams to ensure stable, compliant, and secure file transfer operations. The role includes production support, stakeholder coordination, incident management, and troubleshooting across application, server, and network domains to maintain critical business services.
In This Role, You Will
  • Design secure and efficient file transfer solutions using MoveIT to support critical business processes for global enterprise clients.
  • Implement standardized MoveIT workflows that ensure reliable and traceable transfer of sensitive operational and customer data.
  • Monitor daily MoveIT operations and proactively detect, analyze, and resolve file transfer failures, workflow execution issues, user authentication problems, and login-related incidents.
  • Support user provisioning, access management, and entitlement requests while ensuring compliance with security policies and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, network, and security teams to integrate MoveIT with enterprise systems and ensure end-to-end data flow stability.
  • Troubleshoot integration and application-level issues impacting managed file transfers and business-critical data exchanges.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement sustainable improvements to enhance platform reliability and performance.
  • Configure robust access controls, encryption standards, certificates, and authentication settings within MoveIT environments.
  • Support production incidents, service requests, change activities, platform upgrades, and maintenance activities while minimizing business impact.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Server teams during investigations involving server outages, disk space utilization issues, operating system failures, and Windows service startup problems.
  • Partner with Network teams to troubleshoot SFTP connectivity failures, connection timeouts, firewall restrictions, and network communication issues affecting data transfers.
  • Create operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, support documentation, and knowledge articles to improve service consistency and team effectiveness.
  • Prepare status reports, risk assessments, incident summaries, and change documentation for technical and business stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members on MoveIT administration, security best practices, operational standards, and incident management procedures.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience supporting file transfer, middleware, integration, or application support environments.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience supporting and administering MoveIT Managed File Transfer solutions.
  • Strong experience providing production support for enterprise managed file transfer platforms.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting MoveIT user authentication issues, login failures, file transfer failures, workflow execution errors, and user provisioning requests.
  • Strong understanding of secure file transfer technologies, including SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, encryption, certificates, key management, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Experience supporting enterprise integrations and application-level troubleshooting activities.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server environments, service accounts, scheduled tasks, and related operational support processes.
  • Experience coordinating with infrastructure, server, network, security, and application teams to resolve cross-functional production incidents.
  • Strong understanding of server, operating system, network, and application dependencies affecting managed file transfer platforms.
  • Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues, firewall restrictions, network routing issues, and communication failures affecting SFTP services.
  • Strong incident management, problem management, root cause analysis, and change management experience within structured IT service management environments.
  • Experience developing automation, scripting, monitoring, reporting, or operational efficiency solutions.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $112,500 - $132,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to plan terms.
