Job description

Overview

Milton CAT is seeking a dynamic and growth-minded Sales Manager to lead our Machine Sales team in Maine (Scarborough and Brewer locations). The ideal candidate must have industry experience and knowledge and be a charismatic leader for our team! The Sales Manager is responsible for delivering market leadership, profitability, and customer satisfaction as well as assisting with employee development, financial performance, planning and scheduling.

Salary Range: $125,000 to $150,000 base plus bonus potential

Responsibilities
  • Organize, communicate, and delegate responsibilities and priorities to ensure the successful operation of the Sales department.
  • Develop and maintain effective sales processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Create annual sales goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
  • Lead in sharing best practices and implementing common processes throughout the sales department.
  • Engage in performance management by conducting performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Provide employees continuous and timely support through feedback, problem solving and development opportunities.
  • Communicate with and hold employees accountable to performance expectations.
  • Communicate and build relationships with customers to identify their needs and ways that Milton CAT can support those needs, as well as listen to customer complaints and resolve problems to restore and promote good public relations.
  • Determine staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees in conjunction with Human Resources.

Minimum Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related business field is preferred. Equivalent education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • Minimum offive years machine sales experience, as well as strong customer relations experience.
  • Ability to effectively lead, influence and communicate with others both internally and externally.
  • Ability to recognize and manage confidential materials and information.
  • Familiar with Caterpillar and competitive products.
  • Prior experience with Sales Technology programs, Microsoft products and other Customer Engagement platforms required.
  • Possess a winning attitude and must have the capacity to adapt to changing technology.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment and manage high volume workflow.
  • Willing to travel throughout the Milton CAT territory and outside of the Milton CAT territory as needed.
