Title: Operations Associate (Manufacturing/ Laboratory) I
Duration: 12 Months with Possibility of extension based on demand.
Location: Canton, NY
 
Only W2 candidates are eligible for this position. Third-party or C2C candidates will not be considered.
 
This position requires U.S. Citizens only to meet the DoD requirements.
 
Schedule: Candidate will train on 1st shift and move to 2nd shift.
Beginning with 2–4 weeks of first shift training, then transitioning to second shift.
 
Shift Hours:
1st - 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
2nd - 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM
 
Description:

** DOD/ITAR Compliant Required - Candidates must be compliant with DOD/ITAR requirements and be US Citizen ONLY. **
 
One year anticipated assignment.
 
Responsibilities: The process technician level I will have a primary focus on production inspection support. With this, the incumbent will work in a lab setting running our XRF and particle analysis tools on a day to day basis. A focus on attention to detail and repeatability operating analytical equipment. This position includes preparing glass samples for analysis on analytical equipment, taking notes and detailing the glass preparation process. Also this position will work with our senior process technician and analytical scientists to learn and improve sampling and analysis methods.
•    Primary responsibility is operating and managing XRF laboratory equipment, including sample preparation, polishing, and instrument programming.
•    Work involves handling powders, glass samples, and some chemicals, requiring proper PPE such as lab gloves, masks, and safety glasses.
•    Candidate must follow strict, prescriptive lab procedures with high attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Tasks include weighing materials, mixing components, operating ovens, drill presses, and particle analyzers.
•    Data entry and reporting skills are required, including using Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.
•    Environment includes small-to-medium sized lab equipment, not heavy machinery; largest unit roughly “the size of an office desk.”

Education - Bachelor’sdegree in science - related field preferred, Associate's or HS Diploma/GED with relevant experience - minimum required.
