Position Overview:
The Temporary IT Service Desk Coordinator provides short-term technical support to internal users, helping maintain day-to-day IT operations while delivering a positive customer experience. This role serves as a first point of contact for basic hardware, software, and technology-related issues, assisting with troubleshooting, equipment setup, and support request management.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically proficient, and able to quickly adapt to established processes and systems. This position is intended to provide temporary capacity and operational support to the IT team during periods of increased workload, special projects, or staffing transitions.
This role is a temporary assignment through the end of 2026, requiring full-office presence, with a set working schedule of 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
End User Support
  • Respond to user requests through phone, email, ticketing systems, and other support channels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and technology issues.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT resources.
  • Provide professional, timely, and customer-focused support.

Hardware & Technology Support
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of computers and peripherals.
  • Support Windows and Mac devices, including basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Assist with workstation moves, device replacements, and equipment provisioning.

Ticket Management & Documentation
  • Log, update, and track support requests in the ticketing system.
  • Document troubleshooting activities and issue resolutions.
  • Follow established IT procedures and support processes.

Asset & Inventory Support
  • Assist with tracking and maintaining IT equipment inventory.
  • Support device deployment, collection, and inventory record updates.
  • Help ensure IT assets are properly documented and accounted for.

Team Support
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the IT team as needed.
  • Assist with assigned projects and workload management initiatives.
  • Uphold Laerdal Values while supporting internal customers and colleagues.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a help desk, service desk, or technical support role.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and common business technologies.
  • Experience using ticketing systems and IT support tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting remote and hybrid users.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, user account management, and device support.
  • Basic networking and endpoint security knowledge.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools to improve productivity and support efficiency.

Salary Range: $25-$30 per hour
